    Hiding file/directory from operating system

    I have windows xp and i`d like to hide some files and directories from the operating system , how can that be achieved ?

    you can actually do that from CMD , you will need to write the below command :
    attrib +h +s "c:\file.txt"
    This will completely hide the file from being visible to anyone.
    To show the files again :
    attrib -h -s "c:\file.txt"
    This will show the hidden file.

    Let`s say that you hide a file and forgot where was it , is it impossible to show it back ? , Answer is no , you can actually show all the hidden files by going to Folder Option then View Tab then Un-Check "Hide Protected Operating System files" .
