How to record a output stream in Windows OS?

I want to make a record application on Windows.

I want is that to record a stream that is currently being played on sound card.

    Can I achieve this?

How to do this? Please suggest someway for this.

There are multiple ways to do this, based on the target hardware and platforms:

    a. On Windows Vista and later Oses, you can use following functionality of "Loopback Recording":
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...8VS.85%29.aspx
    b. If your hardware supports "Loopback Recording" then you can use this feature.
    c. Forward output audio stream data to input stream using your own driver.

    Does this make any sense?
